OpenNaaS 0.19 release

The OpenNaaS development team is proud to announce the OpenNaaS 0.19 Release.

New main features:

During this period of time, the development team had three main goals:

  • integrate authentication within OpenNaaS architecture
  • start adoption of IPv6
  • improvements and correction of bugs

OpenNaas 0.18 release

OpenNaaS 0.17 Release

OpenNaaS 0.16 Release

The OpenNaaS development team is proud to announce the OpenNaaS 0.16 Release.

New main features:

  • Addition of more functionalities to the vCPE GUI like changing VRRP priority or VRRP virtual IP address on routers.
  • Creation of better vCPE GUI validations.
  • Improvement of vCPE GUI user experience.
  • Addition of loopback interfaces support.
  • Minor bugs detected and corrected as well.

OpenNaaS 0.15 Release

The OpenNaaS development team is proud to announce the OpenNaaS 0.15 Release.

New main feature:

  • Completed the GUI introduced on last release by adding new protocols to the vCPE configuration: BGP and VRRP. It also includes an improved error handling that checks if interfaces and VLANs are available and a representation of the physical layout necessary to create a vCPE.

OpenNaaS 0.14 Released

New main feature:

  • Operational web application manager to create, edit and delete vCPEs given a physical infraestructure. That allows a NOC user to create a vCPE and also gives its customers the option of changing their own network parameters.

OpenNaaS 0.9 Released

The OpenNaaS development team is proud to announce the OpenNaaS 0.9 Release.

This release has achieved autobahn support, allowing OpenNaaS to act as an autobahn client in order to provision bandwidth on demand circuits. It is also a step towards exporting OpenNaaS functionality through webservices, although this goal is not completely achieved yet.

New key features include:

  • Support for autobahn
  • Resource capabilities having webservice exportable interfaces.
  • Webservice skeleton (SOAP based) exporting chassis capability functionality.

Mantychore in the Greenstar Network Test case

GEANT have published that Greenstar Network Test case with contributions from the Mantychore project made by Andrew Mackarel, from Heanet.

The GreenStar Network aims to demonstrate that it is possible to reduce the carbon footprint of ICT without decreasing performance.

GEYSERS MoU

The goal of the GEYSERS project is to qualify optical infrastructure providers and network operators with a new architecture, to enhance their traditional business operations, with the participation of a consortium of NRENs, universities, research institutions, SMEs, and manufacturers.

The Mantychore project will follow the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) paradigm to enable National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) and other e-Infrastructure providers to enhance their service portfolio by building and deploying software and tools to provide infrastructure resources like routers, switches, optical devices, and IP networks as a service to virtual research communities: Network as a Service.

ERINA+ MoU

ERINA+ is a project partially funded by the European Commission (EC) under the 7thFramework Programme executed by a consortium of four partners (Engineering Ingegneria Informatica S.p.A., the Zentrum fur Soziale Innovation, T6 Ecosystem S.r.l. and Eurokleis S.r.l.). The main objective of ERINA+ is to evaluate the impact of e-Infrastructure funded projects through the deployment of an effective socio-economic methodology as well as proposing, by the end of the project, a pro-active self-assessment­ methodology.

The Mantychore project will follow the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) paradigm to enable National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) and other e-Infrastructure providers to enhance their service portfolio by building and deploying software and tools to provide infrastructure resources like routers, switches, optical devices, and IP networks as a service to virtual research communities: Network as a Service.

The purpose of this Collaboration Statement is to define a framework of collaboration between ERINA+ and Mantychore. ERINA+ shall provide the needed information on the ERINA+ methodology and deliver a short individual report providing useful information to Mantychore on the results related to ERINA+ assessment activities. Mantychore shall provide feedback to the ERINA+ team on the methodology and impact assessment exercise performed.
