OpenNaaS 0.10 released

The OpenNaaS development team is proud to announce the OpenNaaS 0.10 Release.
This release exports OpenNaaS functionality through web services, allowing other’s to remotely call OpenNaaS and take profit of its functionality.
This release has been used to present OpenNaaS at this year’s TNC receiving a warm welcome from the community.
New key features include:
- SOAP based web service interface
- Web client to call web services (for demonstration purposes)

GÉANT Bandwidth on Demand launched as production service to National Research and Education Networks
Dynamic bandwidth provisioning enables national research and education networks across Europe to quickly deliver customised connectivity to campus and international user projects.

User research projects in areas as diverse as radio astronomy, broadcasting, bioinformatics and experimental research have already benefited from the service trials of the pilot phase of BoD. These include the GreenStar Network (shared ICT powered by renewable energy sources), Mantychore (IP networks as a service), EXEMPLAR (experimental optical network testbed), NEXPReS (radio astronomy) and AutoKNF (high energy physics).

OpenNaaS 0.9 Released

The OpenNaaS development team is proud to announce the OpenNaaS 0.9 Release.
This release has achieved autobahn support, allowing OpenNaaS to act as an autobahn client in order to provision bandwidth on demand circuits. It is also a step towards exporting OpenNaaS functionality through webservices, although this goal is not completely achieved yet.
New key features include:
- Support for autobahn
- Resource capabilities having webservice exportable interfaces.
- Webservice skeleton (SOAP based) exporting chassis capability functionality.
